High Energy Bills

High Energy Bills

I am still a full time student in my last year of university. I’m really going to miss all of my friends that I have known in these last four years, but being a full time student and working a part time task, on top of university work and other responsibilities, can be overwhelming sometimes, but there are some weeks where I get really stressed. This university year I decided to not live in student housing, but to rent a house. I supply my landlord a rent each month and I also play for my energy costs… Ever since I’ve moved in my energy costs are excessively high. I tried reducing my consumption by sacrificing light and comfort. I will set my programmable thermostat to the highest temperature when it’s tepid outside and to the lowest when it’s cold outside. I’ve tried many alternatives but it seems like my energy costs are still skyrocketing. I started doing research and it told me to get ahold of my Heating, Ventilation in addition to A/C provider, however when I called my Heating, Ventilation in addition to A/C provider they wanted to set an appointment to check my duct work. They had a feeling that I was losing a lot of energy from leaks in my duct system. The professionals also wanted to look for any insulation complications or drafts from windows or doors. I’m hoping that this is the problem, my appointment is set for tomorrow and I told my landlord, but she said any bills from them, to send to him, at least it’s one less bill I’ll have to pay and hopefully it’s a solution in paying no more high energy costs.
