There is nothing worse than being sick with the flu. It’s the most uncomfortable situation you can possibly be in, if you ask me. I have been desperately trying to avoid getting sick the entire winter season, but however, with all of my co-workers & peers dropping left & right, it was obvious that I was not going to escape the same fate. Sure enough, last weekI finally got sick. I was coughing & sneezing, my stomach was churning all afternoon & night, & my internal temperature was fluctuating wildly between sizzling & cold. I properly shook & shivered, punctuated by perspiring & needing to take a cold shower; Clearly, I wasn’t going to be able to go into work for a while, & my fever needed to slowly die out at home… Unfortunately, this meant that I was living at the mercy of my central heating, cooling, & ventilation system. If you have not experienced it before, it’s quite tough to be bedridden & have unexpected sizzling & cold temperature swings all afternoon long; When you can’t really get up to adjust the control unit, life can get pretty angry, and my internal control equipment was going haywire, & my only source of comfort was to continually adjust the central heating & cooling system up or down. Time & time again, I pulled myself out of bed & hobbled down the hallway to the central temperature controlling device. I easily put my boiler & air conditioner through their paces. After this flu & the afternoons I missed from work, I am not happy to acquire my energy bill in the mail this month.
